I am asking the question because of the outright inadequacy of mental health services and integrationist services to cater for the needs of people with health problems particularly mental health problems.....

I recall an Irish Penal Reform Trust meeting.....a Forensic Psychiatrist and his wise words about mental health definititions. The categories of say bipolar equate the same in the outside world and within the hospital implying that a lot of what is termed Psychiatric are in fact social problems. I have written an 18 page essay dealing with this topic over two centuries.

Anxiety can take you by the throat if you suffer from what is named episodic........Listen to your patients and fight for the funding to provide an adequate medical service and perhaps have less people walking the streets and begging............I have heard that if you have mental health problems in the US, you are 4 times more likely to be shot by the police....

Where is the Barr Tribunal Report......What is holding it up? Why was John Carty show. Where were the social services and the doctors.......

The Morris Tribunal has reported. Let's clearn up the act and hear what Mr. Justice Barr has to say.....

America, they refer to the Underclass.

Medical Services in Ireland are harnassed by the divide - you pay or you don't.......therein is the obscurity as to how to have hope and get the best treatment.....

I note Patient's Together are mobilising to challenge Professor Drumm and the HSE scandal of overcrowding in Accident and Emergency.

I am hearing too much about suicide. I am encountering a degree of medical arrogance that I can no longer accept. I wonder have people experienced similar problems.

We are not hearing about all the suicides.....i.e. those involving the Luas for example or the out of the ordinary number in Finglas at the moment.

What is the system saying......Are they confining us to no Hope and the undersclass category.

Coming To Grief by Hans Johnson
Like the breeze of late winter, a single word,
unspoken, has rippled through the recent funerals of several
US service members returned from Iraq.
Families and military presss officers have different reasons for
tight lips on the topic. But Suicide among Iraq soldiers, 29 soldiers by recent count,
says volumes about drooping morale and raises further doubts about how accurately the toll on service members is being measured and how much more they will bear'

What is worse is the element of trust that is breached. Why do people do such things to other people. Is the motive purely money or is there a hidden inadequacy and jealousy with them.

Has anyone ever been conned? Years ago when there was less access to media and press coverage there was a kind of human connection network that kept people informed and warned.

This year, 18 people are dead, and so many friends, family and people are affected. Last year, it was 8 deaths in a turf war. The turf war is territory and the war relates to the sale of illegal drugs that destroy peoples' lives.

I believe in everybody having a degree of self reliance in and input to halting this plague of mind distortion so called pleasure.

The articles in New Scientist are worth a read. This week's article is second from the bottom.....the title is what motivates me to write, the remainder of my comment is about contextualising the effects of drugs on long term and health and in particular the consequences of mental health problems as a direct consequence of addiction. Let the children know. Why don't we have some for of game that shows you how unpleasant it is when your mind goes ary.....

Ireland

What about making those in control of government departs such as health, transport, education ....... an extract of criminally responsible for reckless or negligent behvaviour......This may enhance Corporate Governance, Accountability, Transparency.

It is time to avoid tangents and focus on our Prisons, our Vulnerable people, a system of health similar to Europeans and lower wages and to ensure we do not stand away from the principles Of James Connolly and Jim Larkin. We have fought hard in Ireland for fair wages let us not discriminate now. Well done Joe Higgins going out to Turkey re. the Gama workers. Let us ask were low wages costed in to the construction contract!!!!

The French have excelled. People started reading books, thinking, and voting.

The Dutch followed on.

What will happen in Ireland? Will there be another No vote election not be acceptable to Govt . Let us recall, the 'machinery' kicked in another strategic vote....and apathy and people beckoned to the call of the Master!!!

Will it be the same this time....Do we really need to waste money on holding an 'Election' as a form of token gesture.

Where are the Watchdogs? Who has the teeth? Why aren't Corrupt Practices not made a criminal offence? What about the scandalous loopholes in those who pay tax and more importantly the Equitable Amount.

President Bush met President Chirac today...there is an urgent need to resolve disagreements and form strategies for peaceful resolutions worldwide.

Within months, the citizens of Ireland review and vote on their choice for the EU constitution.

Perhaps it is time to review our own...in the light of the Peace Process.

Surely: our focus ought to be corrupt practices North and South but not make alleged criminality, at the last hurdle towards the conclusion of the Peace Process. The Gardai exist as do the PSNI let them seek out all illegal practices irrespective of origin and act with Due Process.

Justice delayed is Justice Denied.

The CAB will not apparently being receiving early pensions. Instead, their skills refined through the 1980's/90's scandals of tax evasion will now prove refined to the degree that we may have an effective, speedy system of tribunals with prompt delivery to the Justice system

However, in the midst of all this exciting blame festering news let us not forget the important issues. We need to review children, we need to consider restorative justice, we need to appoint educational psychologists in our schools, we need Ethics established as a mind set of those entering the work environment, government etc. read full story / add a comment

Peace is essential. Diversity exists but it is up to each person to work at making Unity the goal.
Let's look to colonial powers like Zimbabwe who appear to have fallen by the wayside. Let us take regard for the need of a Peace Protype/Model that can give inspiration to other countries torn by war.
Let us take account of Narcissism and those who act the part of Boss as distinct from Leadership.

Leadership is about inspiration. Leadership envelopes philosophy, psychology and a level of Truth. read full story / add a comment
